After receiving her Associates Degree in Applied Science for Paralegal Studies from Sage Junior College of Albany in 1993, Emily Bermudez received her Bachelorâ€™s Degree in Political Science from SUNY Stony Brook in 2000 during which time she was awarded membership into the Golden Key National Honor Society. She worked for the firm of Montano & Calisto as a paralegal while attending Stony Brook.
She then attended law school at Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, while working as a Paralegal for the law firm of Grosso & Rosenberg, LLP. Ms. Bermudez received her Juris Doctor in 2006 and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for excellent achievement in Employment Law, in addition to awards for excellence in Labor and Employment Law.
While attending her last years at Touro, Ms. Bermudez worked as a Paralegal with the firm of Ira S. Rosenberg. After graduating Touro, she became an associate attorney with that firm where she worked for seven years. As an Associate she handled numerous criminal and family court matters, as well as, solely responsible for handling personal injury, residential real estate matters, and uncontested divorces. Ms. Bermudez is fluent in Spanish and has maintained a strong commitment to assisting the Hispanic community for years.
Ms. Bermudez was admitted to practice in the State of New York, Second Department in 2006.
Ms. Bermudez is an active member of the Suffolk County Criminal Bar Association and the Long Island Hispanic Bar Association.
She is a resident of Lake Ronkonkoma where she resides with her husband and two small children. She is a member of the Upper Room Christian World Center in Dix Hills.
